Some of the varieties I grew in 2009 and the results.




Beetroot Red Ace - prolific
Broccolli Tendergreen  - savaged by caterpillars
Brussels Sprouts Montgomery - savaged by caterpillers
Bunyards Exhibition Broad Beans - delicious
Cabbage Greyhound - fantastic and sweet
Cabbage Red Drumhead - fantastic and tasty
Carrot Chantenay - savaged by slugs or mice at germination
Climbing Bean Borlotto Firetongue - fantastic crop for drying
Climbing Bean Soissons - fantastic crop for flageolet (dried)
Coriander - can never get it leafy enough
Courgette Black Beauty - prolific and delicious
Courgette Tristan F1 Hybrid - ?
Cucumber Green Fingers - prolific but quite leathery tough skin, not that tasty
Dwarf French Bean Maxi - not prolific didn't do that well
Fennel Finale - lovely big bulbs easy to grow
French Shallots - onion rot/mould, cant use that bed for 8 years
Garlic Marco -  onion rot/mould, cant use that bed for 8 years
Leek Musselburgh - nice
Lettuce Mini Green - nice - crispy mini iceberg
Onion Ailsa Craig -  onion rot/mould, cant use that bed for 8 years
Onions Red Baron  onion rot/mould, cant use that bed for 8 years
Onions Setton (white) -  onion rot/mould, cant use that bed for 8 years
Parsley - plain leaved 2 - parsleyish
Peas Process9 - not brilliant 
Potato - International Kidney (salad/heritage) - ?
Potato Desiree -

Potato Maris Piper
Pumpkin Hooligan F1 - lovely little pumpkins, good for stuffing
Radicchio Treviso - went to seed
Radish Rainbow Mixed 
Runner Bean Scarlett Emporer
Squash Avalon F1 - very prolific, nice medium size fruits
Sweet Basil 
Tomato Harbinger - crop failed
Tomato Saucey - crop failed
